Stupid article is stupid. Power has pretty much never, ever been the deciding factor in a generation, Wii dominated the other two in sales with a significant power disadvantage. Lack of third party support was a problem for gamers but the thing that the media forgets is that Nintendo doesn't have to care if the third parties support them or not. They make money hand over fist from console sales plus their own huge first party game sales and I'm pretty sure they can continue to do so for as long as consoles stay relevant.
Bottom line WiiU is going to do fine, power not withstanding and Nintendo is not going to abandon a console after only 2 year just to keep up with the Joneses.
