The difference from Forza to GT is like Camero vs. Mustang. Mustangs sell 4x as well as Cameros, but there is still a huge Camero fanbase.

This is a huge jump from last gen, where Forza was unheard of.

Anything can happen next gen, the total install base of Forza is higher then GT this gen, maybe that gap will grow furth in favor of Forza? Like the auto-industry, the gaming industry can flip at a moments notice.

The bolded is wrong. GT5, GT5:P and GTPSP have outsold the 4 Forza games this generation. This is despite the fact that GT is pretty hugely undertracked here.

VGChartz has this generations Gran Turismo games at 15.43 Million units as of right now. PD had shipped 18.4 Million units as of September.

VGChartz has this generations Forza games at 13.37 Million units as of right now.

Gran Turismo is still ~2 Million in front using VGChartz hugely undertracked GT numbers.

Besides, using the term install base is wrong, since that would be how many separate individuals own the game.  Many of the purchasers from title to title will be repeat buyers.  So, it's kinda impossible to estimate that.  Though, I think its not to crazy to estimate an actual fanbase, using the average sales of the games (home consoles only).  So, Forza's estimated fanbase would be ~3.3M, while GT's would be ~6.3M.  Of course, both Forza 4 and Horizon, as well as GT5, will continue to sell for awhile.  I expect, for this gen, Forza will end up at ~3.7M and GT at ~7.6M (a little over twice the size of Forza's).

Yes, sorry, I shouldn't have said install base. I was tired, chose the wrong word. I meant to say that the total number of individual game sales is higher for Forza then it is for GT on consoles.

I don't disagree with your numbers, but I think they are off. I bet about 2.5 million Forza 3 fans have probably bought Forza 4 or Horizon (or both), but of the other 2 million, I associate 1 million with console bundles, and 1.5 million with people who didn't get a second game in the franchise. So Forza 3 brings in 5 million unique users, Forza 4 probably adds another 500k, plus 1 million more for bundles (I assume this game will end at about 4 million), and Forza Horizon will probably add 500k unique users on it's own. So for Forza 5 + 1.5 + 0.5 = 7 million unique users. (How the heck did you get 3.3? That means that each Forza 3 owner has 1.5 copies of the game LOL).

GT5, lets say end up with 10.5 million sales. I bet 3/4 GT5P owners also own GT5, so 10.5 + 1 = 11.5 million.

So obviously the install base for GT5 is higher then Forza, but the ratio is probably closer to 3:2, not 2:1.

You can spin the subject but you can't use this words to what you want to say.

The install base of Forza is below 3 million... the install base is how much unique users you have buying the Forza games... that's below 3 million because only half of the Forza 3 buyers brougth Froza 4.

Now about GT I can say almost everything that brought the "Beta" of GT5 brought GT5 too and more 4 millions guys... the install base is over 8 million.

So there is a smaller install base then games sold? Read above, I think you guys use every chance to knock Forza where you can. As it stands, the franchise is comparable to GT5 in terms of install base, loyal fans, sales, ratings, sim quality, etc, etc.
