Now that we've established that 10 - 15 months is actually more like "in the next year" and nothing like "in the next few months" let's consider for a moment the definition of generation. A generation means people who are born or in this case technology which is produced within a date range. It's a bit nebulous but in people, those born within two are maybe 3 years of each other are considered members of the same generation. It doesn't matter whether they are tall, short, fat, thin or what colour their skin is, they are part of the same generation. Technology lives and dies at a much faster pace.
There hasn't been a new home console for 6 years so the Wii U is clearly the beginning of a new generation and will remain the only member of this new generation for about a year. You might not like it but there's not much you can do about it.
