I agree. The porting process isn't as simple as some people here would like to believe, so making a decent Wii U version of GTAV may not be worth the trouble given how much effort must be put into rewriting the code. I doubt it would make much use of the Wii U's different capabilities and architecture, unless Rockstar determines that the Wii U version is worth putting so much time and resources into (it's probably not). However, I think a portion the people who want GTAV on Wii U might not be so concerned with port quality, and are more interested in its symbolic presence on a Nintendo home console.

GTA IV was probably never designed to be released on the PC whereas Assassins Creed was. I guess the same applies to many of the big Japanese games so perhaps that is the major factor as to whether the Wii U CPU is considered slow or adequate. In a console focused design a game will likely make extensive use of vector code whenever possible whereas the Wii U CPU likely doesn't have strong vector units. GTA IV runs like complete arse on a PC as testament to this fact.


What troubles me is that Rockstar has not even announced a PC version. I don't understand why not, since it would likely sell very well. And given how far ahead PCs are compared to consoles these days, I don't see why Rockstar can't make a good PC version  of GTAV (compared to GTAIV's PC version). No wonder PC gamers complain about consoles holding them back...
