Not going to dispute that there is a place for petitions, but I only mean to compare their effectiveness to remind people that if they actually want a game to come to a console, it's not necessarily enough to simply say you want it to happen. Personally, I would be more interested in some sort of pledge to buy GTAV for WiiU if it ever is released, as opposed to a "please bring it to Wii U because it would be cool" petition. Extra points if there is an option to include the signees' Nintendo Network ID, to give it a little more legitimacy. A petition is a push, and in some circumstances might just work. However, to tackle the problem of improving third-party support on Nintendo home consoles, I will always reccomend a stronger option.

From that optic, I can agree. But the original vantage point (to discredit one due to the supremacy of the other) I couldn't. Glad you put it into perspective.

That original post was basically born from exasperation, since it seems to me that petitions these days are being treated as some sort of cure-all solution. Compounded with the current results for third-party games on Wii U, in which the only one currently finding sucess is ZombiU (which is a good game), while other, maybe better games are comparatively being passed up. I honestly thought more Nintendo fans would try out Darksiders II, given that the series has been labled as a "darker, more mature Zelda". Or Scribblenauts Unlimited, which has a history of success on Nintendo platforms. But I guess Mario takes first priority once more.
