| RolStoppable said: This site has always had its good and bad periods, because the general mood is strongly influenced by hardware and software launches. Some people only notice it when they are on the receiving end of the doom while everything is fine when they are on the giving side. Anyway, after reading through this thread the only thing that really stuck with me is the mention of the Vita cult. I remember calling it like that, so I'll explain why. Not everyone who posted in the official Vita thread was automatically a member of the cult, but there was a good number of people who worshipped the device (and there might still be some of those). I am speaking of posts along the lines of: "Sony made such an amazing piece of hardware, but the general consumer is oblivious to this magnificence or too cheap to buy it." Essentially, I am talking about posts that put the blame for the Vita's failure on consumers rather than Sony. Building such a device comes at a price, so something has to give. It's either as is at a high price or it's a much less capable machine at a lower price. You can't have both, but it's up to Sony to make this decision; and if consumers send the message that the product is not desired, then the business made the wrong decision, not the other way around. The refusal of some posters to accept or see this made me jokingly label the official Vita thread as a cult, also because the thread itself seemed to become more and more its own subforum and a little bit detached from the rest of this site. |
brace yourselves!!!!!!!!! he's right on all accounts. wht?? well except the cult part, but it's funny.
i'd say consumers that plan to buy Vita, maybe 90% of them are wait for a price drop. big number right? other then 3ds wht other handheld had a home console price tag attached to it?
i would further divulge my opinion on wht would happen if Vita go a price cut, but i'll digress for the moment.
