Don't confuse trolling and fanboyism. They look similar on the surface, but they're very different.

How to handle a fanboy: Challenge them with facts, keep beating them over the head with the facts until they consider an alternative to their viewpoint.

How to handle a troll: Turn the trolling attempt against them. Their aim is to elicit an emotional response from the target, so choose your words to get an emotional response from them, instead. Never, ever, try to argue in the regular method with a troll.

How to handle a fanboy: Ignore them

But I agree with you, the fanboyism on this site by certain users (who are also the most active users unfortunately) is extremely obvious. I've been a member for over 2 years but I rarely post here because of those users and the blantant fanboyism they convey. Since they're the most active users, I get a sour taste everytime I read the forums and just choose to ignore this community and only visit for sales numbers. It's a shame really, because 2 years ago it wasn't this bad, and that was back when I was (fairly) active in my posting because the community was much better. I can easily list down the Sony, MS and Nintendo fanboys on here, but I think most people already know who they are.
