If you think about how many PS2 were bundled with phone contracts and how much PHATS died the DISK READ ERROR death you can actually say the DS is the winner. It simply is.
(I dont know any1 who owns a phat anymore lol and I also "bought" 2 PS2s because my phat died)

If you just go by numbers of units sold (no matter the way) then we dont have a clear winner since we lack the numbers. And shipment doesnt even give us a hint since 2 different companies handle their productions totally different.
(most car manufacturers for example have like 0 difference between sold and shipped because they want to avoid storage costs so they sell, then produce and then ship sure this doesnt apply to consoles it was just an example. As long as we have no idea how willing Sony and Nintendo and retailers are at storing the products we have no idea how shipped translates into sold)

What you say about car companies isn't true at all. Most car companies have at least a months worth of stock ready to go at all times. For instance, VW has stopped making the current generation Jetta Sportwagen (Golf Estate) but still has enough left to last until the next one comes out.
