I agree with the sentiment put forth by the Playstation people that the PS2 is still the highest selling console of all time and VGC's numbers are incorrect. This goes both ways though, PS1's 104 number should be adjusted down by 2m, I guess PS2's missing 2m have camped out at the PS1's.
I also agree with the argument of the Nintendo people that it's extremely unlikely that the PS2 is outselling the DS, and that it is even more unlikely that PS2 has sold >160m.
I agree with the 156m figure for the PS2 is the most likely figure for the system. With DS now at 153.7 and above VGC's 153.6 figure for PS2, which was in fact from november last year, it puts it at about 2m behind the PS2.
Any XBox people have anything to add? 
I believe the recent rumors of the PS2's discontinuation could have some truth in them. It's likely, twelve years after being released, that it's entering (or has already entered) it's final shipment's production. Twelve years, just like the PS1 was discontinued after twelve years. Also, Sony will need the resources soon to be put to use for the PS4 instead.
I believe the DS will win this eventually, as I think the PS2 will be discontinued first (and soon) and the DS will stick around for 2-3 years.

yep,surely the PS2 is going to be shut down,can't see why they would still make them now or going into 2013,no stopping the DS it has had a good last quarter this year really picked up,good work form nintendo

I don't get what you're trying to say (no offence, but a little more effort in syntax and punctuation would've helped).
Why would the PS2 continue to live on for another couple of years and the DS be killed in 2013? DS is four years younger and selling decently for a console with a successor out. There is no logic in this.
Besides, I said 'could have some truth in them'. That didn't mean I meant 'certainly has some truth in them'. You cannot deny that given the (circumstantial, I agree) evidence there is, it is likely that the PS2 is going to be discontinued 'soon'.
