are all these games connected??? or is it like maybe different stories and timelines??? Never played but i used to kno someone who enjoyed them very much

Yes to the latter part of your guess. While they're all in the same universe, each Castlevania is part of it's own time in history. There are a few exceptions with a few direct sequels/prequels (Like Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow), but even those really don't require much knowledge of the previous game.

And kudos to that "someone" you know who enjoyed them. ^_^

I believe castlevania been out since snes!!! I loved games especially sequels because it feels like it never ends! Im someone that plays a game that has to be in order ex im gonna get golden sun for gba so i can play the entire franchise!!! Castlevania i heard good things about, too bad its an underrated series like to me fire emblem that needs more attention!
