"The only reason xbox360 is handedly outselling PS3 in the US is cross game chat."

That's where I stopped reading as that is no where near the main feature that has kept 360 ahead of PS3 in US. Absolutely mind boggling that you'd think that is the most important feature on US players minds. I've NEVER heard anyone outside of this site talk about cross game chat as being greatly important and all of my friends own 360s. I was actually the only one with a PS3. (they all had Wiis too and now bought WiiUs)

Have you tried to setup a multiplayer party with your friends for a PS3 game?  And I'm not talking about playing with random internet acquaintances, but with people that you personally know.  It's is not easy on PS3.  It's not necessarily the "cross game" chat.  I don't usually chat when my friends are playing a different game.  But being able to chat and put a multiplayer/coop party together before starting a game is really helpful.  You get the occasional party/internet disruption, and xbox makes it easier to get back into the party.  PS3 is so much more difficult.

It's so much easier to drop in and out of coop parties before getting into a game on xbox.
