2008 was when the 360 got a drastic motherboard redesign that effectively ended huge fail rates. you know that.

It was widely reported in the media. Its called free press. But 2007 was considered by many to be 360s golden year. People just thought it was justified to get the games, even if their console was at risk, over a PS3. And I think its that scenerio that freaks you out...that gamers legitimately wanted a 360 over PS3 knowing its faults.

I think that just speaks to how much Microsoft downplayed/covered up the RROD epidemic.
If there's was a sign on the box or near the shelf at the stores that says "this product may be defective" Do you think people would have still bought it?
