However, the same site also reported onproblems with the chip’s manufacturing with one source calling the component quality ‘painfully low’. The issue is rumoured to have cause production delays.

RROD again?

The site suggests PS4 will launch Spring or Autumn 2014.

 Good news if true.

The name of the PS4 project is Thebes. As you might have guessed, other than it being an AMD CPU and GPU, we don’t have much more specific details. It is said to be a 28nm part, likely fabbed at Global Foundries or IBM for the first run, and out after Oban. That would most likely be the spring of 2014, but it could be fall of that year too.

I don't like the CPU + GPU together from AMD... seems too weak. But I like the 28nm talk .

lol.

RROD again.  even now... RROD.  lol.  It isnt the quality thats low, its the supply.  You are btter than tha.... er... hang on.

PS4 delayed is good news?   It really, really isnt.

Don't coment if you don't know what you're talking about...Let me explain what low yields means to you.....

Lets say the yield is 60%, that would mean that out of 100 consoles made, only 60 work. The lower the yield, the more supply you need since most of what you're producing is going to the trash.

From what we know the next Xbox isn't being mass-produced yet. They're still only making dev kits. So its too early to tell if this will be another RROD situation.

Who the hell do you think you are talking to?    I know full well what it means.

You are being mischievous to score some lame point.   Even bringing RROD int this is ridiculous at this stage.

If the supply is low due to issues then that means they arent letting anything through other than the decent quality and are stull testing quality and getting things right.  Its a natural part of R&D.

Low quality is directly related to available supply. Yeah this is a natural part of the process, like I said before...

...and then you and Ethomaz start blabbing on about RROD.  It isnt required or appropriate at this stage.

Its like me saying dont buy a Sony camera or phone, the battery might explode.  Its just bad mouthing and trouble causing.

Are we just supposed to forget such a massive failure? Microsoft didn't publicly admit that this problem was widespread until 2007. It took them YEARS to fix the problem. They let people buy defective consoles knowing they would fail one day. By then, those who had run out of the warranty had already bought replacements.(plural)

This is like warning someone from buying an iPhone in the summer. In a few more months they'll release a new one, so why not wait?
Forgive but never forget.
