THen you would make a very poor investor. Today it is at a near all-time low. You would lose money. Wise investors sell when it's high. |
Why is that? I don't see any profits on owning nintendo stock with the current price. My money should be making more money, not bleed left and right. Also it is nowhere near alltime low, the face value should have been a lot less than that. Don't you think so?
Not at all. Nintendo typically makes billions in profits anually and pays out high dividends. It's coming off its only loss ever, that's why the stock is so low. They are going to turn a profit this coming year. Actually, it will probably exceed profit projects because they were based on an 80yen/1US dollar exchange rate and the rate is now over 82/$ and getting better(worse). Depending on the Fiscal Cliff working out, and the Japanese election, the yen should fall further to 90/$ or so. With WiiU launched and 3DS establishing its base and now selling at a profit, last year will likely be be Nintendo's worst for the next 5. Therefore it is an outstanding time to buy the stock. Keep in mind that even when the GameCube was selling just 20 million units Nintendo turned billion profits. So even if the WiiU is a Cube-like flop, it will still make them money for a few years. Also, with billions in reserves Nintendo won't go belly up. Buy stock, watch it grow or kick yourself at a missed opportunity.
FYI, simple math calculations project Nintendo shares to be worth about $26 next year at this time, a 100% gain from today. Maybe even better.
