Haven't turned on the 3DS in months since. The PSV gets turned on every now and again, but it's been months since I've actually played any games on it after buying Gravity Rush on release day (less than 3 hours played). Even so, I still like the hardware and if it weren't for the fact that my smartphone handles all the extra tasks a PSV can be used for, it would probably see daily use. However... since I have an iPhone and an iPad, neither the 3DS nor the PSV sees any sort of regular use. As much as I hate to out myself here, when I feel the need to play some games for a few minutes (5-15 minute sessions or less) here and there, it's always iOS games. The problem with both the 3DS and the PSV is that the games that are actually worth buying the platforms for generally require 30-60 minutes worth of uninterrupted play time to get the most out of them. Many of the games I've bought for either are best played in sessions around or over an hour at a time. The reality is, I just don't have the desire to spend that much time in a single session when it comes to handheld games anymore. Neither handheld goes anywhere with me. About the only time either would see extended use would be during a train ride or trip somewhere that didn't involve me driving. |
