Zelda is supposed to primarily attract children to teenagers, which is why they choose the specific color schemes, so I agree that Nintendo will never go after the adult crowd with him unless Miyamoto and the older dudes die. Super Mario uses bright primary colors which attract children and the same with Kirby and Pokemon. You're right though, Metroid, F Zero and Xenosaga are probably the best bets to go realistic.
