I live on Fort Riley KS, and have been in Walmarts, Gamespots, and Best Buys in Manhattan KS (Kansas State is located there), and Junction City.
On post you can get both editions easily. Military age males tend very heavy for PS360. In town it is hit or miss, and is hard to find a black edition, but I did see one today at walmart in Junction City. So while sales seem fine, it does not look like a repeat of Wii 2006-2008.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
