The 3DS was also "hacked" immediately (before release even, iirc) but just like in this case it worked while running in DS mode and we've yet to see a wave of 3DS pirates sweep across the interseas. From what I know there have been cases of "hacking" with the Vita as well but there's still no way to pirate Vita games.
So I wouldn't go into panic mode just yet.
