@bananaking21, I am not convinced that is necessarily right. Sony are probably going to announce it before E3, AND, there is a decent chance that there will another Naughty Dog game coming later in the year, assuming the Uncharted team keeps to a 2 year schedule. Added to that, the strong possibility that this won't actually be a big seller, I am not sure they really have to save it for the holidays. AND AND AND, Sony doesn't tend to release its main games in the holidays, sure Uncharted does, but very few others do

GT comes out 1 or 2x per gen, Ratchet is no longer a major franchise.
If I were to name Sony's main franchises, they would be probably be God of War, GT, Uncharted, Killzone and....? As I said GT barely comes out and Uncharted is every other year (and should end). Killzone and GoW are both Spring releases
So basically, Sony don't actually have that many big games and they tend to not come out in the holidays.

R&C was a good seller though. I mean, what have they announced for the end of next year? We know nothing, and they're sure to be focusing on GoW, Last of Us etc. early in the year and come E3 it will be all about PS4 I think

What did they have announced this year? I think PSASBR was announced midway through last year.
Essentially, off the top of my head Naughty Dog and Guerilla should have games to show next year, possibly for Christmas release, I don't really think we can read anything into this release date as all. I think an Autumn 2013 PS4 is likely, but I think this release date proves nothing
And don't forget GoW 2 came out after the PS3
