GamePad costs $85 to repair. Retail price starting at $99?

Nintendo provides a one year warranty so within one year of you owning the console they will cover the cost. Providing you don't void the warranty. If it is past a year you have to pay, but you have another year after you pay. 

yes, and when they sent me the replacement they started a new full year from that date, maybe I should have held on to it for a while and got more out of the year before having it replaced.
