are we sure about that?

i know that second one is old but it looks like ps3 allows parental control of content on the playstion store via esbr rating.  if nintendo hasn't figured out how to do that maybe this "time" thing is just a "good enough" fix to meet legal requirements.  it wouldn't be the first time in recent history nintendo has taken the "good enough" approach to things.

parental controls are 100% fine imho. Sure it can be a annoyance to some but for parents it's a must. Especially since kids nowadays being so tech savvy. ( I swear I can't beat my niece in angry birds...she even purchases games from psn using my credit and she is still 4 years old lol..true story)

but I thought wiiu does have parental controls tho? So it shouldn't be a problem

wiiU does have parental controls.  but, from what i'm reading in this thread, they apperantly don't extend to the e-shop.  on psn they do.  i'm going to go on a limb and expect on xlba they do as well.   if nintendo doesn't have that working yet this may very well be a short term fix they have to do.
