for a game that's supposed to be centered around the gamepad, it seems silly to make a sequel that neglects what the original game was supposed to take advantage of.
sure ubisoft might decide to make the sequel multiplat, or they could re-release the original game on other consoles. whatever the case, it just would not be the same game without the wiiu gamepad. i can't imagine the game being as fun without it.
we aren't talking about a movie, we're talking about a game. making such a parallel is about as ill-founded as what you're accusing my train of thought for, which happens to be a little different than zombiu never appearing on another console again... it's closer to zombiu (the franchise, as i'm pretty sure a sequel is already being worked out) remaining nintendo exclusive.
nevertheless, we'll see!
