beyond that as cgi said most hd games do not try to achieve photo realism, games out this year like halo 4, borderlands 2, dishonored etc and even upcoming games like for example, bioshock infinite,  god of war ascension, gears judgement etc all have a unique artstyle

Well, for one he didn't say HD games, he said games that employ photorealism, and listed Uncharted, CoD, Battlefield.

His idea runs off the hypothesis that, though they have unique styles, they contain humanoids and that would inevitably lead to the uncanny valley dilemma. Not that I agree with him, as you can see from my posts I have a different PoV, but I think you're looking at it wrong.

Problem is that he just assumes that people who are making the biggest games in the industry don't understand this. Like they would just let their multi million franchises to their downfall without anyone on their team noticing that something seems off in their games.
