I don't think you quite understand the meaning of the word "innovate." I'll help:

"To introduce something new to a particular environment; to do something new."

I put it in parenthesis because its not innovative from a traditional stand point, but rather they wouldn't be following the same line of thinking as other console makers.

 

Also, just to be devil's advocate, I see your Wiktionary and raise you a Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
