These three were the only titles to break the top 40. The others are MAJOR flops.

A game isn't a flop because it fails to break the top 40 in its first week during a launch. Especially when you have no reference point for what the actual sales numbers are... which is why I'd rather wait for VGChartz's numbers, to get a better idea. It's possible that the difference between, say, Book of Spells for PS3 and 80th place is a mere 5%. We just don't know. Oh, and let's not forget the "only 2 days" factor.

But then, I'm more interested in actual information that can be drawn from the charts. Let's start with ZombiU, which is actually in 16th in the version-split chart, rather than 17th. This places it not far behind NSMB U in terms of position. Compare with the US, where NSMB U sold more than 3 times as many copies. Either ZombiU is popular in the UK due to setting, or it's just doing better proportionally by chance.

If you look at the "Value" chart, Nintendo Land comes in at 9th. Not sure how this is worked out (that is, how does one assign value if it's bundled?), but it's still interesting. ZombiU comes in at 15th by this metric, too.

Unfortunately, they do not yet have a proper Wii U chart, meaning that there's no reasonable way to see what comes after ZombiU. Indeed, the lack of a chart makes me wonder if they've got all of the information, yet. This isn't to say that the charts that are available are incomplete in any way, just that it's possible that their Wii U tracking isn't completed, yet.

Anyway, the whole point of what I said in my last post was that the article is looking at platform-agnostic sales and making comments about the performances of exclusive titles as though it's a meaningful comparison. Hence, a beat-up.
