I don't understand the need for a New Legend of Zelda, at least from a business perspective, given that that is what this is supposedly focused upon. The argument is clear and obvious with 2D vs 3D Mario (2D sells a boat load more).
With Zelda, the most commercially successful games are Ocarina and Twilight Princess. Thus, the same business argument doesn't hold up, and it just becomes a personal desire.
