It's striking how different those graphs are, with the PS3 having a very gradual rise and decline. Looks to me, given the lack of spikes, it would finish above the 360 in year 8, though we know the landscape will probably be much different.

I also did not realize that the PS3 outsold the 360 at launch, especially in only two months compared to three months. What would gaming be like now if the PS3 hadn't had so many problems and faults initially? Wow.

I woldnt say gradual, I'd say even.  I'd expect less than 8.5m for PS3 next year, but you expect it to do better than the 360, so over 10.5m? interesting.  Look again.

Perhaps you should point out that you've changed the graph and data since I replied?
