I didn't realize that if you align launches PS3 would look so stronger. Bear in mind that it was much more expensive and it had nothing to differentiate itself for the start, it was a year late, yet it still outsold 360 every year but one (that is a guess anyway).
Just think that what would the graph look like if PS3 was competitive day one. It just shows that Xbox 360's success is almost completely due to the Sony's mistakes. Otherwise it would be the PS2 scenario all over again.
