So, I consulted my Nintendo experts, 8 and 12 years old.
They asked, the WiiU is like a DS and Wii combined?
IMO, regardless of how Nintendo tries to advertise the WiiU. It will be seen as DS + Wii.
So, this confirms that, WiiU is an 8th gen console. It's a product of two 7th gen consoles having sex and give birth to a brand new console.
