Judging by the manual, which can be found here: http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10953, yes it will work. Under the section about safe disconnection it mentions turning off the ethernet connectivity first, removing the ethernet cable, and then removing the usb cable.
That's not undeniable proof, but it seems like it's possible. Your best bet would probably be to shoot an e-mail to their support, https://www.lacie.com/mystuff/login.htm?rtn=newticket, and ask them.
