My Club Nintendo card (assuming that's what 'point star code' means 
) is just with all the booklets in the plastic baggie. If it's for some reason absent, which I've never seen before, you can contact Nintendo and show them a copy of your receipt. They'll send you one, at least they do when a card doesn't work.
Don't know about the other thing, haven't looked at the friends list and stuff yet.
