Why do you ignore my responses? Tekken 1-4 were exclusive to Playstation and sold extremely well. Yet you said "Yeah exclusive fighters only work on Nintendo.." |
Sorry bro I seriously just missed your responses. Tekken isn't exclusive anymore. I'm talking about in current day. I don't see there being much of a need for more fighting franchises because we've got so many well established fighting franchises. I just don't see what kind of new exclusive fighter would take off on Sony especially if Battle Royal doesn't work. Yeah back when Sony had like 80% or more market share of the entire market any type of exclusive would work. On Nintendo exclusives work really well as long as their tied to Nintendo history somehow. Even on a low install base gamecube Smash Bros did quite well and Killer Instict did well on on the Snes and okay on N64. I don't mean that you can just throw any exclusive fighter on Nintendo and it will print money. Just that I can actually see exclusive fighters working there because Nintendo gamers respond to icons like Link, Samus ect. In fact those characters put them into a buying mood. If Sony wants exclusives to do better again I think they need to focus on a larger audience by going lower spec with their hardware again like they did with PS2.
Other than buying some popular fighting franchise and then fakely exclusivising it what type of new ip fighting franchise do you honeslty think could sell like gangbusters on playstation 3? I bet Nintendo could do just a mario themed one and it would do fine or a metroid themed one or disney one ect.
