Japan only. I don't use VGcharts data for games in the west. And it's true, I checked at garaph.

So what that this game means nothing if it's exclusive or not, it's less than a footnote, imo. Not saying it's not a good game or not, cause I haven't played, but no one cares if it's Wii U, PS3, 360... but, by internet measurements, the game looks huge!

EX Troopers bombed today right? Well, the last Ninja gaiden did similar numbers on PS3, for example (25k)

Neither Ninja Gaiden nor Bayonetta is Japan-centric though; the target audience is clearly in the West. This is akin to pointing to Dragon Quest's western sales to call it a niche franchise worldwide. We're largely getting off topic here, and I admit this is my fault so I'll drop the subject after this post, but Bayonetta is a better example of a franchise where the internet love is far in excess of the real-world love. Call it The Dreamcast Effect.

The point is that (pre-III) Ninja Gaiden was a decent mid-tier title to have on your system in the West, judging by its Western sales. It didn't make or break a system, but a healthy ecosystem has titles like it.
