To me that was like a no brainer don't think twice as 24 pack of coke in Australia was about $30 at the time.

It's improving, but it's not the same. People are much more cautious about their spending than they were in 2006. Anything considered a "luxury good" doesn't earn as much as it did pre-recession.
I actually never thought about how the recession might've affected sales. Good point, sirs.
