Back on topic- Nintendo did everything right with NSMB apart from the WiiU and 3DS versions released in the same year. I have NSMB2 on 3DS ( which is my fave version ) but i wont be picking up the WiiU version until at least next year as i feel a little " Mario'd out" so to speak.
