WalMart, Future Shop, Best Buy online stores all say sold out. Future Shop and Best Buy web sites confirm their local retail stores are also sold out, but tell me I can find some if I'm willing to drive over a province or two.
Maybe your neck of the woods has plenty, but that doesn't mean there aren't sellouts elsewhere, and selling out at any retailer constrains how many consoles Nintendo can sell this holiday. |
I just checked all major online stores here in Sweden and all Wii U versions were sold out everywhere, so I wouldn't be surprised one bit if what you (and Reggie) are saying is true.

I'd say those are among the major online stores, but as I am not a swede I can't be certain. Komplett shows 100+ stock on Wii U premium preorders, others show that you can preorder those consoles.
Oh, did not notice. Webhallen shows that Wii U premium is out of preorders.
