I think that is the fun of the whole thing though.  The Bond and Moneypenny relationship was always left ambiguous as to whether Bond and Moneypenny were ever any more than friends. 

I'm really glad they brought back Moneypenny, I always enjoyed the scenes with her and Bond (also with M dropping in on their conversation from time to time).
