I'm pretty sure most third parties have jumped ship by now and even if the Vita starts a glorious comeback it would take a lot of time for third parties to release something meaningful. I don't see how Sony could keep the Vita afloat alone for a year until third parties have something to show.
Vita hardware is pretty decent but the Software is just garbage to mediocre for the most part. Maybe I'm just buying the wrong games. |
Honestly, there really is no reason for developers to jump ship en masse. It would be a bad mistake. It would end up with a truck load of games on one system all under-performing. The wiser developers and publishers know that developing another market would allow chances to make their product stand out more. None of the major players in Japan want to see only one handheld completely take over, it would be a bad for thier business in the long run.
Sony's major concern right now is getting developers to switch over from the PSP, not the 3DS. PSP support in Japan is still amazing.
