I've got very few gripes about the Wii U. Speeds, controls and everything are all acceptable, at the very least. Anyway, for those who missed my earlier post, if your game starts freezing (the entire console locks up and you have to remove the adapter), just go to options and change the settings to "English Only". That's the word on the message boards. After that, the game works just fine. Played it this morning without a hitch. I hear there's going to be a patch next week for this issue, too.
