I agree with all three of your points. The PS-Vita is a great value (except those expensive limited capacity proprietary crap memory cards sony decided to force again). It has a bunch of really good games and PS+ instant library makes it one of the cheapest new game machines anyone can get (aside PS3 itself I mean).
The problem remains Sony's marketing approach. It isn't working... so they need to copy Nintendo and Microsoft in that area.
Sony's single biggest failing is their philosophy of doing Everything. It spreads them thin, they don't yet have a Mario or Zelda reverance IP while Microsoft started with Halo. They have a poorly supported PS-Move while Nintendo dedicates a new console for each new controller (every one of their consoles has had a new controller). Not saying the PS-Move should have been the controller for PS3... just that it's not worth putting out controllers if they will further spread you just so you can say it does Everything.
Sometimes, if you can't do it best... don't do it at all.
