When companies talk of improvements in Next gen tech, graphics are but one key component of achieving these goals. People fail to look at the bigger picture. Improvements in tech will bring bigger worlds, more complex A.I. , Dynamic environments, higher and smoother average Frames/Second all the while improving the visual fidelity within these worlds.

Take for example a FPS game that dynamically changes the time of day to match your locale, or even the weather. U3 level graphics in a Skyrim sized world at 60FPS and full day/night cycle and weather cycle that mimmicks your locale. Yeah, and that's ideas off the top of my head. The possibilities would be enourmous.
