The PS4 will probably someday have it for movies....Maybe the Nextbox too.
Probably over streaming and their online library is a great chance too...Sony and M$ will focus more on this in the future so its more a thing with the internet connections of the people.

For games?No chance
They won't make a jump from upscaled 720p/1080p to 4k.
They will see that they can have NATIVE 1080p with 60FPS for all of their games, especially Exclusives.
People always forget or don't understand we have no REAL Games(on quality level of an Uncharted,The Last of Us,God of War,Halo etc) with NATIVE 1080p in this Gen - NATIVE is the important word here.

As someone here said > HD were around long time before it was the current standard. Those HD TVs were exactly as expensive as Ultra HD TVs are now.
In around 10 years they will be 500-1000$ depending on size and features. At the same time we will already hear about new stuff like ULTRA GIGANTO LASER HD or so and afraid people will say "OMG WE DON'T NEED THAT" like they are forced to buy them fro 30k.
But we have that everytime when something is changing.Guess what?Next year maybe Xbox people aka those who think BluRay is crap and not needed will say its the greatest thing ever.Sudden change.
The same happened with HD TVs...The people who still had to play on SD TVs at the beginning of this Gen said HD TVs are unnecessary and only for rich people until they had one.
Its in the human nature to hate the things you can't have/afford.
