if you only qualification is that the same franchise is made by the same team...

No, my qualification is that the games need to made by a talented team. I selected my examples because they are made by the same team, making the point easier to illustrate, but if an A-team takes an A-franchise then the results should* still be good. If Nintendo had farmed out 3D Land to, say, Shin'en, and had acted similarly with their other marquee franchises, the 3DS would not be performing at even the rate it is today. For the sake of discussion I will limit myself to saying that at the very least the perception is that the A-teams are not developing for the Vita.

*Unless it's a total mismatch of talent to objective, of course. I wouldn't trust EAD Tokyo to make a AAA FPS, for example.

well i think sony has gotten better about this.  LBP is amazing, uncharted is really good from what i hear, GG is making killzone, MM is making tearaway so they really do have good talent working on the vita.

...and i was thinking on my commute home that i may have been being unfair to call out vita.  it really isn't just vita.  i'm not sure why but western devs and western consumers just have a sigma that handheld games are watered down games.  not exactly sure why that is but i must admit i had that same sigma not too long ago.
