The parts are only part of the cost of the hardware. For example the 3DS tear down came up with something like $150 and they where loosing money at $170 so $30 or more is for labor, logistics, packaging, etc. So the hardware will be lower than the price but there are other costs involved that add a cost on top of everything.

The parts came to $100, Everything else ended up more than $70 resulting in a loss; that's assembly, packaging, shipping, wholesale cut, retail cut. This same logic brought me to Vita more than likely selling at a profit or break even as the Vita's $160 parts breakdown provided it a larger cushion for the logistical costs. The 3DS would have to be selling a huge loss if the Vita was selling at a loss and since 3DS is now profitable again it would be near impossible for the manufacturing costs to go down low enough for that.

Whatever the Wii U cost breakdown is we can add on at least $100 considering 3DS was over $70 and the Wii U is larger and has more parts.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
