Wrong. A $400 console sold at a loss could easily outperform current-gen consoles in every area.
You see the Xbox 360 is currently selling for a hefty profit, I beleive even the $199 4gig model is making Microsoft money. The PS3 is a different story, with the Super Slim I believe Sony is now making a pretty good profit as well but not as big as MS. The only reason the PS3 is still $250-$300 is because of the tech used inside the console, it is expensive.
