Updating a few days worth of games today.
47) Costume Quest (PSN) - A fun and engaging game involving a bunch of trick or treating kids on a halloween night. The controls are simple and fun. The dialogue is adorably cute and funny. Colourful world filled with small adventures that makes one feel like a kid again.
46) Killer 7 (GCN) - Before there was No More Heroes. There was Killer 7. A really old game with a convoluted story often compared to Metal Gear. You play as a chracter with 7 alter ego's you can switch into to solve the games puzzles and firefights. The cell shaded graphics add to the appeal of this really bizzare world and screams of the jumping screaming enemies gave my teenage self a few nightmares.
45) Bastion (PC) - One of the most original to come along in recent memory. The combat is fun with varied weapons, the levels are gorgeous as they form right in front of your eyes. The narrator describes your every move as if you were in colourful storybook adventure of your own. Oh and the soundtrack is amazing too.
44) Mass Effect (PC) Right from the beginning it feels like you are in for something epic. Also unlike most other game that keep on building upto something big but that something big never happens is not the case here. The universe is so well done and is sure to capture the imaginations of gamers for years to come. Science fiction might be a dying genre in the world of movies but Mass Effect proves that it sure is alive and stronger than ever when it comes to interactive entertainment.
43) Guild Wars 2 (PC) - The only mmo where i put more than 2 hours and did not get bored. The art design in this game is simply gorgeous. The combat is fun and can stand toe to toe with any other action rpg. The world is massive with 100's of hours of content. More importantly it is a game where people are happy when you join their fight and help them out. That leads to a pretty cheerful community. After close to 50-60 hours in the game i am still scratching the surface ane exploring more and more place as i slowly lead to fight the elder dragons.
42) Heavy Rain (PS3) - A game like many others. Described more as an interactive movie Heavy Rain is a pioneer of sorts for its genre. It can be a game for people who don't play games or enjoyed by seasoned veterens looking for something different while taking a break from the next team death match or slayer. The story is told well as you take control of 4 different protagonists tryingt to unravel the mystery of what is going on. While playing it i was not having a traditional fun one usually has while playing games but i was sure engaged in the world and story as i could be. A true gem of an experience surely not to be missed.
