Let's not get carried away now.. All console launches are riddled with crappy ports and multiplatform titles. Just be happy we got a damn good 2D Mario game. Remember the 360 launch? It was like the Wii u launch without the awesome Mario game. Developers who release games for console launches tend to rush their games out in order to make the deadlne . Not to mention the fact that they are working on entirely new hardware and need some time to get acquainted with it.
The quality of the third party games looks to already improve in the next few months. Rayman, Wonderful 101, Lego City Stories, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter all look solid.
While I don't think third parties take their efforts on Nintendo hardware too seriously, I doubt they want them to fail. It'd be a major hit to their industry if they failed.
