how many of them know how to develop. market and make games? how many of them know how to run and manage a game development studio? anybody in these plethora of blogs and articles an experienced business man in game development?

@ the bolded section, if anybody of those people have ever played a game on a controller than played a game on a touch screen wouldnt believe that. play a mario game see how tight the controls are and then tell me if it works on a touch screen. excuse me but i would rather trust nintendo who has been in the industry for 30 years and over a journalist or bloger who knows nothing about the gaming indusrty, the gaming market, game development, gameplay, or any info about the costs of iOS game development or console or handheld game development, costs and profit in the short and long term other than what he read on IGN and gamespot.com

As a matter of fact, some of those people are indeed businessmen who know how to run a company. Even better, some of the people calling for Nintendo to make iOS games are actually Nintendo shareholders, and therefore Iwata's bosses. They, of all people, should have the clearest idea of how the company should proceed, seeing as how they literally own the company!

Hedge fund managers, investors, people who make games, people who critique them for a living and therefore are experts in the field... EVERYONE thinks Nintendo should make iOS games. It's sheer stubborness that's keeping us from enjoying Mario on our iPad. You can't even say controls are an issue, since this is the same company that shoehorned touch-only controls into Zelda, and who created an entire console dedicated to the wildly-inannacurate concept of waggle.
