I don't think its upscaled but I do not know. It just seems to stretch it to my TV properly whereas 480p Wii could not.

If it's just the aspect ratio and not the resolution, there was always a setting to change you Wii to properly fit widescreen TV's in the Wii options menu.  If it's clarity, then that's great news for me!

No setting or cables (bought varies ones) would make the image look even slightly decent when my Wii was hooked up. It was game specific as well. Donkey Kong looked great for example. I just tested Skyward Sword (saving hero mode for the wii U) and it looks FAR better.

This will be the first time I accutally get to enjoy wii games where they are not so overwhelmingly disorted that it takes away from the experiance.
