Many games has done cinimatic games like Call of Duty, gears of war, uncharted, Halo, etc  Don't give credit to a console for what developers do.

Some would argue that Uncharted, particularly Uncharted 2, changed the gaming industry as it sparked an unprecedented wave of games shifting to cinematic experiences. Sure, games like Call of Duty and Halo were also influential titles, but not to the extent of Uncharted. Besides, Call of Duty and Halo mainly influenced shooters, while Uncharted influenced third-person games, and really the gaming industry in general in terms of pacing, set pieces, atmosphere, seemless cutscenes, polish, etc.

You can see it clearly with many older franchises being 'modernized' to be more cinematic while changing their roots, with games like Splinter Cell: Conviction, Socom 4, inFAMOUS 2, Hitman: Absolution, Tomb Raider, etc. And without the Ps3, there would probably have never been Uncharted. So it makes sense to give the console credit. There's even been an article written that expresses Uncharted's impact on the gaming industry here

What I'm saying is that multiple developers is the cause of this and it had nothing to do with sony, MS, or Nintendo.  This is about consoles not games.

If the question was what would be the most influential games this generation then I'd Say Gears, Uncharted, and Call of Duty.  This however is about consoles.

If the question was about the most influetial game developers then I'd EPIC, Infinity Ward, and Naughty Dog.

Sony is a publisher not a developer.  They did not go to Naughty Dog and say hey I want this game to be cinematic.  No, Naughty Dog went to Sony and showed them and they agreed to publish it.
